Supporting Timothy BIRT
in Dereham-Toftwood ward: Mike HIRST
Mike has several years experience of working in local government,
in the NHS and in the voluntary sector and is a seasoned political
campaigner. He is also an enthusiastic birdwatcher and nature
conservationist.
Mike believes that a change to the established party consensus is
desperately needed at a national and a district council level.
A vote for the Green Party is a vote for strong local communities,
political integrity, social justice and protection of the
environment for future generations.
If you wish to see:
- An economy that gives everyone their fair share and does not
blame and penalize the poor for the mistakes of the rich and
powerful.
- Public services returned to public hands to be run in the
interests of the people that use them.
- A publicly funded, publicly provided NHS.
- More social rented homes being built and bringing abandoned
buildings back into use.
- A planet protected from the threat of climate change.
Then vote Green Party on May 7th and vote for the common good
If elected to Breckland District Council, Mike would:
- Resist, to the greatest extent possible, the service cuts
and privatisation imposed on local councils by National
government.
- Campaign to end the waste of empty council and privately owned
buildings.
- Call for an ambitious programme to insulate every home in the
district and install renewable energy technologies.
- Call for real investment in local cycle ways, footpaths and
public transport systems.
